The effects of initial amount and rate of increased reinforcement in escalating schedule on walking activity of college students

Although some studies found escalating schedule as an effective reinforcement intervention in the promotion of physical activity(Kurti & Dally, 2013), The escalating schedule that increases the amount of provided reinforcement(Mahoney, 2017) during the accompanying management strategy for physical activity has been limited to systematic research and experiments. Until these days, the studies that have applied an incremental reinforcement schedule do not specifically show when the amount of reinforcement is the most effective and efficient in increasing and maintaining target behavior at what rate. In order to contribute to the persuasive interaction technology, this study seeks to explore the most efficient reinforcement of an increasing schedule system and effective rate of increased reinforcement.
